The Founder
I spent ten years in the military, much of it in special operations. It taught me something early: standards are not optional. You either meet them or you don’t.
I carried that mindset into the next twenty years, working across global manufacturing, supply chain, operations, and product development. Along the way, I helped build and guide some of the most recognized brands in fitness. There’s a good chance I had a hand in putting some of the equipment in your gym today.
But twenty years inside the industry also showed me something I couldn’t ignore.
Too many fitness brands were being run by people who weren’t part of the fitness community. People who didn’t train. Decisions were made in conference rooms, products were built to hit a price point, corners were cut, and marketing was expected to make up the difference.
I never stopped being one of the people who actually uses this equipment.
I’m a competitive weightlifter and amateur bodybuilder. I train on this gear every day, under real weight. I know the difference between something that looks good on a spreadsheet and something built to perform when it matters.
Eventually, I decided I’d had enough.
After twenty years of building for other brands, I wanted to build equipment the way I believed it should be built.
Built to a higher standard. For those who live by one.
That became Black Anvil.
Strength Forged. Purpose Driven.
